Minecraft Cylinder Generator

Round towers, silos and vertical columns.

Repeat a tested circle footprint vertically for towers, silos and round walls. Inspect individual Y-layers and track material totals across height levels.

Build guide

Best uses

This generator is useful for round towers, silos, lighthouse bodies and storage columns. The planner gives a block-by-block shape plan and material total before you start placing blocks in your world.

How to build it

A cylinder repeats the same circle layer at every Y level. Build and inspect the base once, then repeat it to the required height.

Planning tip

Use outline for hollow towers and filled mode for solid columns or platforms.

Before you start

Choose the final outside dimensions, check whether the centre is 1×1 or 2×2, and gather the stack total shown by the tool. For large builds, use the printable layer or quadrant plan instead of trying to follow a giant grid on one screen.

Build the base once, then repeat it

A cylinder is one circular footprint repeated at each height level. Finish and inspect the first base outline before copying it upward. This makes cylinders reliable for silos, lighthouse bodies, storage towers and round columns.

Think about the top before the body

Choose whether the cylinder ends with a flat rim, a cone roof or a dome. That decision affects the outside diameter and the wall thickness you need at the top level.

Use a cylinder as a repeatable framework

A cylinder removes guesswork from round towers and silos because the same base layer repeats vertically. Build the first outline, test the entrance and interior, then repeat it at each height. Keep the centre reference available if a roof or upper platform will be added later.

Choose the cap before finishing the walls

A flat rim, cone roof and dome roof each need different top planning. Decide early so the final body diameter matches the roof base rather than forcing an awkward transition.

FAQ

Does this work in Java and Bedrock?

Yes. These are manual block-placement blueprints, so the visual plan works in both editions.

Can I export the plan?

The Shape Planner supports JSON and CSV layer exports. PNG, SVG and print exports are available for compatible 2D blueprints.

More build questions

How do I build a cylinder in Minecraft?

Build the base circle once, verify it from above, then repeat the same footprint at each Y level until you reach the planned height.

The cylinder generator repeats a circle footprint at each level, making it useful for Minecraft towers, silos and round columns.

What is the difference between a cylinder and a tower?

A cylinder is the repeated circular footprint. A tower is the finished structure with entrances, floors, windows and a roof.

Can I use a cylinder for a silo?

Yes. Use an outline cylinder for a hollow silo wall, then choose a dome or cone for the top.
