Minecraft Ring Generator

Walls, platforms and open-centre rims.

Build circular walls, donut-shaped platforms and tower rims with a controlled inner opening. Adjust wall thickness to balance interior space and outer protection.

Build guide

Best uses

This generator is useful for tower rims, portal surrounds, arena borders and donut-shaped platforms. The planner gives a block-by-block shape plan and material total before you start placing blocks in your world.

How to build it

Choose the outer size first, then use thickness to decide how wide the wall should feel. Check the inner opening before gathering materials.

Planning tip

Outline is fastest for a one-block rim; thick mode is better for defensive walls and wider walkways.

Before you start

Choose the final outside dimensions, check whether the centre is 1×1 or 2×2, and gather the stack total shown by the tool. For large builds, use the printable layer or quadrant plan instead of trying to follow a giant grid on one screen.

Protect the space inside the wall

A ring is not just a thick circle. The inner opening is part of the design. Decide whether it will hold a courtyard, portal, garden, road or tower before selecting thickness. Check the opening after the first outline is placed; a strong outer wall is not useful if it leaves no room for the build inside.

Build gates from the anchor axis

Use the north, east, south and west anchor directions to plan gates and paths. Mirror entrances when the ring should feel formal, or deliberately keep one main entrance when the ring is a defensive wall.

Measure the opening, not only the outside

For a ring wall, the most important question is often what fits inside it. Decide whether the opening is for a courtyard, portal, garden, path or tower before selecting wall thickness. Test the inner edge at ground level so gates and walking space still work.

Build walls in mirrored sections

Use cardinal anchors to place matching gates or paths. Finish one section of the ring, compare it to the opposite side and only then raise the wall height.

FAQ

Does this work in Java and Bedrock?

Yes. These are manual block-placement blueprints, so the visual plan works in both editions.

Can I export the plan?

The Shape Planner supports JSON and CSV layer exports. PNG, SVG and print exports are available for compatible 2D blueprints.

More build questions

What does ring thickness mean in Minecraft?

Ring thickness is the wall width from the outer edge toward the inner opening. A higher value creates a wider wall or walkway.

Should I use a ring or a filled circle?

Use a ring for walls, rims and paths with an open centre. Use a filled circle for floors, platforms and solid foundations.

The ring planner is useful for circular walls, donut-shaped platforms and thick circular paths with a controlled inner opening.

How do I keep the centre open in a Minecraft ring?

Use the Ring Generator rather than Filled mode. The wall thickness setting defines the outer wall while preserving the inner opening.

Can a ring become a circular walkway?

Yes. Choose a thickness that gives enough walking width, then add railings or walls after the base ring is complete.
