Start wide, reduce the layer, keep the peak centred.
Cone roofs work well on medieval towers, wizard towers, spires and fantasy builds. The reliable method is to use a circular base, then build smaller centred layers upward.
Choose the tower’s outside diameter first. The cone base should match the top wall ring, not the usable interior. If the tower uses thick walls, account for that before selecting the roof diameter.
Build the bottom roof ring and inspect it from above. Each higher layer should be smaller and centred on the same scaffold. The cone generator gives a sequence of layer diameters so you do not have to estimate where the roof should narrow.
A temporary vertical scaffold makes the roof peak easier to align. It is especially useful on tall towers where the top layers are difficult to inspect from the ground. Remove the scaffold after the roof is complete.
Good for dark medieval towers and strong silhouettes.
Useful for rustic roofs and warm fantasy builds.
Works for ornate roofs with weathered colour variation.
Add after the block structure is correct to soften selected roof edges.
Use the layer plan. A roof can look lopsided if one reduction is skipped or repeated.
Finish the structural cone first. Add stairs, slabs, dormers or lighting only after the silhouette looks balanced.
The roof should cover or intentionally overhang the top wall. Test the first roof ring before building the higher layers.
Yes, but a circular or octagonal top usually makes the transition smoother. Use a circular roof base if the design needs a clearly round spire.
Yes. The plan is manual block placement and works in Java and Bedrock.
Outline is usually enough for a hollow roof shell. Filled mode is useful only when the roof needs to be solid.
